One Fort St. John police officer goes above and beyond for five ducks
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Usually police officers are out and about attending to crimes but one Fort St. John officer recently rescued a group of feathered friends.
On July 4, Cst. Tristan Williams discovered that five duck siblings had fallen through a storm sewer grate while following their mother. A passerby heard noises coming from the area.
After removing the storm gate, Williams was able to see the five little ducks. He leaned down through the opening to retrieve them one by one and return them to safety without contamination.
Police consulted with Avian Rescue Authorities. The siblings were returned to their environment where they were reunited with their mother unharmed.
