630 customers still without power in region

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — BC Hydro spokesperson Bob Gammer says crews still have 630 customers to restore power to after almost 3,000 in the entire Peace region were left without power.

“We are hoping to get about 300 customers back on north of Fort St John by about 1230 p.m. today,” wrote Gammer in an email.

Crews are continuing work on repairing power lines today, but he said the conditions and new damage from fire activity on Tuesday is making that much harder to do.

Last night, BC Hydro restored power to about 2,000 customers tonight in the area north of Fort St John, with around 700 customers still waiting for power to come back on.
