Trackers salvage tie with Vancouver
COMOX, B.C. – The N.E. B.C. and Yukon Trackers avoided starting their midget provincials 0-2 yesterday as they took on the Vancouver Thunderbirds. The power play was big of the team as it accounted for two of their three goals in a 3-3 draw.
The Thunderbirds opened the scoring in the first period and built on that lead in the second as they went up 2-0. The Trackers were able to get back in the game in the later stages of the frame with two goals in a 1:10 span.
Vancouver went back in front as play resumed for the final 20 minutes, but the Trackers second power play goal of the game tied the contest to wrap matters up.
Scoring for the N.E. B.C. was Dustin Bahm, Geoffrey Dick, and Teagan McMullen.
The Trackers have two games on tap today. At 10:45 a.m. they’ll take on Prince George, and they’ll wrap up with Coquitlam at 7 p.m.
