Weather alert warning of hail, lightning strikes issued for South Peace

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A weather alert is advising that a strong low pressure centre is crossing the central interior and moving toward the BC Peace River this afternoon and evening.

Environment Canada says strong wind gusts can be expected as well as other convective activity such as lightning strikes and hail as this system passes through.

The Alert says confidence is low on where the impacts will be felt, so warnings will be sent with little advance notice if they are needed.

The threat will pass by this evening in the Cariboo and Prince George, and for eastern B.C. overnight.
