Grande Prairie search for suspects in attempted luring
GRANDE PRAIRIE, A.B. — The Grande Prairie RCMP is investigating a case that involved two women in a black van approaching a child yesterday afternoon.
Around 3:45 p.m., a black mini-van pulled into a driveway and a young woman got out of the driver’s seat near 71 Avenue and 99 Street in Grande Prairie.
The woman asked the child if she wanted a ride home. The girl refused, and another woman opened the passenger side door and told her she could get in the van. The child refused again, and continued walking until she could safely call her mother.
The driver is described as a Filipina woman, with black hair in a high pony tail and a small build. Police describe the passenger as an older Filipina woman with dark grey hair. She was wearing a colourful dress.
RCMP officers are working to locate the van and identify the people involved so they can investigate the incident further.
