POUCE COUPE, B.C. — The Village of Pouce Coupe is sending their condolences to the family of Carol Bishop, the village’s Chief Administrative Officer who passed away on Sunday.

“Carol was an integral part of the community,” a statement from Mayor, Staff, and Council reads. “She put her heart and soul into the Village of Pouce Coupe and she was trying to make Pouce Coupe a better place to live. … She will be deeply missed.”

The acting CAO now is Adam Langenmaier, until a suitable candidate can fill the position.

The announcement of a designated acting CAO comes just under a month after the village’s former Mayor, William Plowright, resigned on Dec. 17, 2015. Following his departure on Jan. 4, Pouce Coupe’s acting Mayor will be Andre Lavoie, until a by-election can be held.

No date has been announced for another by-election.

Sandy Stokes, executive assistant to the CAO, says no further information is being released at this time.
