Aircraft Maintenance Engineering students receive memorial awards
DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Two Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program students at Northern Lights College were the recipients of special memorial awards.
Bryce Marks was presented with the Duane Sunderman Memorial Award, presented to the AME student who has a personal interest in working on helicopters. They are also in the second block of training, and are a high achiever in both practical and theoretical work.
The award honours the memory of Duane Sunderman, a graduate of the program who died in a 1995 helicopter accident.
Kumaran Sethuramalingam was the recipient of the Erich W. Lehmann Memorial Award, which is presented to an AME student who exhibits high achievement in the practical skills of the program, shows dedication to safety and professionalism in the workplace.
This award is in memory of Erich W. Lehmann, who died at the age of 19 as a result of an industrial accident. His dream was to have a career that involves helicopters.
Financial awards are coordinated by the Northern Lights College Foundation.
