More opportunities to donate with Clothesline Drop Boxes

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Should you have clothing donations to give away this holiday season, consider dropping them off in a Clothesline Drop Box, via the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Located at Walmart and Wholesale Club, the boxes collect donations that are sold to partnering businesses such as Value Village. The proceeds from these sales directly support the Association.

Drivers with the CDA take trucks every few weeks to collect items, including household appliances and the likewise, so this program is a way of making the traffic of donations run smoother.

“They come every two weeks and they come house to house and pick up clothing donations, books, stuff like that,” said Phallon Stoutenburg, Area Youth Commissioner for Scouts Canada. “So having the drop boxes is to eliminate (the need) for the truck that comes every few weeks.”

People can donate their clothing any time.
