School District still working on funding for new and renovating schools
We could learn more near the end of the month, regarding District 60 new school construction, provincial funding support.
This after Education Minister Mike Bernier announced at the end of last week that nearly $1.3 million is being provided for facility improvements at Bert Ambrose and Robert Ogilvie schools.
District Superintendent Dave Sloan confirms both projects involve replacing aging furnaces with new boiler plants and the installation of classroom unit ventilators.

Phase one of each project is expected to begin before the end of this year, and to be completed by the spring of next year, with phase two work beginning early next summer.
Meantime, Mr. Sloan says the local District’s school replacement and new school construction priorities remain the same, and the Minister is expected to get a first-hand update later this month.
