FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – BC Hydro and Indigenous communities along the Site C Project have created a cultural exhibit showcasing artifacts that have been found during the construction of the Site C Project.
The exhibit will be travelling around and is currently on display at the Visitor Centre inside the Pomeroy Sport Centre until early January 2021.
The exhibit is a way of learning the rich history and cultural heritage of Indigenous communities in the Peace Region. The exhibit showcases stories, visuals, and artifacts. It’s a self-guided and interactive exhibit, which encourages the public to walk through and learn at their own pace.
According to Dave Conway, Community Relations Manager for the Site C Project, the exhibit will be travelling to the eleven Indigenous communities which helped develop and collaborate on the exhibit’s content as part of the Site C Culture and Heritage Resources Committee.
The exhibit is currently on display daily from 10 am to 8 pm. Additional COVID-19 safety precautions and measures are also in place.
