DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – A pre-trial conference was completed in Prince George court Monday for Kevin J. Johnston’s assault case.
Johnston appeared virtually and is scheduled to appear back in Dawson Creek court on July 14th.
Johnston was arrested and charged with assault after punching the Dawson Creek No Frills manager on March 25th.
Dawson Creek RCMP received a report of a disturbance at the grocery store after Johnston and others entered the store without masks.
The detachment says the manager followed the group to the parking lot to collect license plates for a police report.
A video posted on Johnston’s social media platforms showed RCMP arresting Johnston after he was seen yelling, ” I am making a citizen’s arrest” at the manager.
In a separate video, Johnston was seen throwing a punch at the manager. This came after the worker hit Johnston’s hand away while trying to shove his phone in the manager’s face.
Johnston was in the city to speak at a Freedom Rally.
