FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The returning officer for Northeast B.C. has validated the federal election results, confirming that incumbent Conservative MP Bob Zimmer has officially regained his seat in Parliament.
Close to 50,000 out of 79,952 eligible voters headed to the polls, however, 430 ballots were rejected, according to Election Canada. A total of 49,197 votes were considered valid.
In 2019, 55,412, or 69.8 per cent, out of 79,397 eligible voters headed to the polls.
2021 federal election results for Prince George—Peace River—Northern Rockies:
Conservatives – Bob Zimmer – 29,882 (60.7%)
NDP – Cory Grizz Longley – 6,647 (13.5%)
PPC – Ryan Dyck – 5,138 (10.5%)
Liberals – Amir Alavi – 4,236 (8.6%)
Greens – Catharine Kendall – 1,661 (3.4%)
Maverick – Dave Jeffers – 1,58- (3.2%)
Canada’s Fourth Front – Phil Hewkin – 53 (0.1%)
