South Peace in the dark

In Chetwynd, the power is out north, south and west of John Hart Highway 97 and east of 47th Avenue, affecting 1380 customers. B.C. Hydro expects power to be back on by 1:30 p.m.

Power is also out in Chetwynd west of 48 Street, north-east of Highway 97 and south of 47 Avenue, affecting 934 customers. In Chetwynd and Hudson's Hope, the power is out north of Campbell Way, affecting 762 customers. B.C. Hydro expects power to be back on in those two areas by 2:30 p.m..

In Dawson Creek, the power is out west of 8 Street, north-east of the Dangerous Goods Road and south of 84 Avenue, affecting 2931 customers. In addition, the power is out in Dawson Creek south of Reasbeck Road and east of 221 Road, affecting 2930 customers. Also, in Dawson Creek and Pouce Coupe, the power is out south of 7 Road, affecting 1755 customers. B.C.

Also in Dawson Creek, power is out south of Golata Creek Road, affecting 400 customers, north of Moore Road and south of Braden Road, affecting 1080 customers, and south of Leahy Pit Road, west of 217 Road, affecting 678 customers.

In addtion, power is out south of the Alaska Highway, west of 17 Street and north of Highway 97, affecting 140 customers, as well as north of Highway 49, south of Rolla Road, and west of Patnode Road, affecting 102 customers.

The power in all these areas is expected to be back on by 2:30 p.m.

B.C. Hydro says the cause of these outages is currently under investigation. We will update as we receive more information.
