Organizers of the 2011 BC Oil and Gas Conference, being held in Fort Nelson in early September, have just added a controversial figure to their speaking roster.

Ezra Levant, journalist, publisher, TV anchor, and self proclaimed “troublemaker” will be making his way to the North Peace to speak at the conference. Organizers are excited to have him, stating that “regardless if you agree or disagree with Levant and his unique perspective, his presentation is certain to create discussion.”

Levant is best known for his energetic and often controversial talks that appear in a number of different mediums, from his magazine “Western Standard”, to his TV show “The Source” which appears daily on Sun TV.

The theme of the Oil and Gas Conference, which will run from September 7-9th, will be “Communities Leading Change”, and will feature presentations from key stakeholders, elected officials, government members, and local First Nations.

Another special aspect of this conference will be that it will be the first large conference held in Fort Nelson’s new Recreational Complex, which will officially open August 27th.
