Fort St. John facing low hotel vacancy rate

Finding a hotel room in Fort St. John may be more difficult for the next couple of weeks after a report suggests many are currently full or nearing capacity.

The report, released by the Visitor Centre, provides occupancy information about most hotels, motels and inns in the city.

The Visitor Centre states that the low number of vacancies is due to a high level of industrial activity and traffic in the city.

Many are either full until the end of the month or at high capacity. The Visitor Centre is recommending that anyone who wishes to stay at a hotel make advance reservations. Although it says it is not aware of any problems at campgrounds or RV Parks, it suggests people make reservations to be on the safe side.
