On Wednesday, the Fort St. John Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual ‘Chamber after Hours’ community meeting.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Patch Java. The focus of the meeting will be a presentation regarding the City’s Official Community Plan (OCP). The presentation will be put on by City Planner Kevin Brooks.

The OCP guides how City Council and staff make decisions about future development in Fort St. John. The document covers a wide variety of topics related to city development, including zoning, taxation and parks/facilities.

Chamber of Commerce President Andrew Tylosky elaborates on the importance of the OCP and what Wednesday’s meeting will focus on.

Tylosky says both Chamber members and the general public are encouraged to attend to hear Brooks’ presentation and provide feedback on the OCP. That feedback will be beneficial for improving the community.
