Another FSJ Toys for Tickets campaign is underway

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Once again, motorists in Fort St. John who receive a parking ticket from now until Dec. 17 have the option of turning it into a Christmas donation.

The city is partnering with Moose FM to collect Christmas season donations for the Salvation Army.

The annual program works the same this year as in the past and ticket recipients can choose to drop off either an unwrapped toy or cash – which equals the value of their fine – to city hall.

The cash donations will be used to purchase items for the Salvation Army Christmas hampers and this year there’s a particular gift need for very young children and up to two years old, as well as for teenagers.

Last year’s donation value was close to $5,000 and residents don’t need to be a parking ticket recipient to participate. Anyone can drop off a donation at city hall or one of the other receiving venues in the city.

All the toys collected will be combined with those received during the Moose FM Troyer Toy Drive, which is set to take place Dec.10 to 11.
