UNBC professor receives award

A University of Northern British Columbia professor is receiving a prestigious achievement award from the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation.

Margo Greenwood is receiving a National Aboriginal Achievement award for her work with both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children’s health.

Greenwood is one of 14 recipients of this year’s awards.

She currently serves as the academic leader of the National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health and has also served on various other committees, including as a health and children’s issues advisor to the United Nations.

The 2011 recipients are being presented in the House of Commons on Tuesday and the official awards gala will take place early next year.
