Highway closed after rollover near Dawson Creek

Highway 97 near Dawson Creek is closed after a single vehicle rollover Saturday night.

RCMP were called to the scene approximately 30 km west of the City around 9 p.m.

A white 2007 Honda Civic travelling in the southbound lane passed another vehicle then went off the road, rolling onto its roof.

The driver was taken to the Dawson Creek Hospital and treated for undisclosed injuries. The car’s passenger did not survive. 

The highway is closed while the crash is being investigated.  Police say it should reopen by Sunday afternoon.
