Ooks and Bulldogs win home V-ball tourneys

The NPSS Ookapiks girls volleyball team hosted its annual tournament this weekend.

The Ooks went undefeated through the round robin, matching up against Chetwyng in the final.  The final went three sets, with the Ooks winning the third, and taking the gold medal.

NPSS players Chenise McClarty and Jenni Curzon we named all-stars, while Emma Karasiuk received the MVP honors for the tourney.

The Bert Bowes Boys Bulldogs also hosted a seven-team tourney this weekend.   The Bulldogs came second in the round robin losing only to the Grande Prairie Composite Varsity team.  The Bulldogs then faced the G.P. squad in the final, winning the third and deciding set 15-12, to take the tournament title.

Andrew Stewart, of the Dr. Kearney Cougars, as well as Tristen Burridge from the Bert Bowes Bulldogs, were named tournament all-stars.
