Former FSJ resident lives through three fires

A 19 year old man, who had already survived mobile home fires in Williams Lake and the Fort St. John area, managed to survive another one this week in Vernon.

Cody Wilkin was one of seven people who lived in the destroyed trailer but none was home at the time of the Tuesday fire.

He was only two years old when he escaped the Williams Lake fire but, was fourteen when his family lost their home in this area.

He says that fire occurred about 25 minutes out of the city and was therefore outside of the city fire department’s jurisdiction.
