BC Green Party Comes out Against Site C

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Green Party in B-C has come out in opposition to the proposed Site C dam on the Peace River.

Leader Jane Sterk says there’s already been too much environmental damage to B-C’s major river systems and there are greener alternatives for producing electricity.

She says instead of costly mega-projects, B-C should consider increased conservation and small-scale projects like geothermal, wind, ocean tides and using methane from landfill sites.

Sterk says this would not only create more jobs but diversify the power system.
