Alaska Highway Fire
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
There was concern yesterday afternoon, that a fire at Mile-62 of the Alaska Highway may have been associated with a gas pipeline.
As a result the Provincial Ministries of Forests and the Environment responded, along with emergency measures officials and, those from Spectra Energy.
However, shortly before six o’clock police confirmed, the fire, in a freshly mowed ditch, had nothing to do with a pipeline, nor natural gas.
It had also been contained by that time and, it never presented a threat to area residents, nor did it interrupt highway traffic.
