Man charged in fatal crash at Okanagan Granfondo in B.C.

PENTICTON — Mounties in Penticton, B.C., say a man has been charged in a crash that killed a female cyclist during last year’s Okanagan Granfondo.
Two others were seriously injured when they were hit by a vehicle on July 13, 2025.
Police say they conducted an extensive investigation into the collision, which ultimately led them to forward recommendations to the BC Prosecution Service for the consideration of charges.
They say the man was arrested on Monday and has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm.
But police say the investigation is ongoing.
Organizers of the Okanagan Granfondo announced in October that they had chosen to cancel the annual event indefinitely after 14 years.
