This comes after the city issued a bid request on May 15th for HVAC improvements at the North Peace Arena, including the installation of four ERV units, ducting, floor/wall penetrations, associated restoration, and the removal and disposal of the existing HVAC system.

According to the document, the invitation to bid for the project closes on May 28th.

The four ERVs will be procured through the Canoe Group Purchasing Organization, which is a group purchasing organization.

In the report, city staff said the existing equipment is more than 25 years old, and it is experiencing increasing maintenance requirements.

It added that, to avoid further delays, owner-supplied equipment is required to help ensure the project meets operational requirements in the fall, in advance of scheduled ice-rink use. The equipment’s specifications were developed to ensure operational suitability and overall value.
