Hair Bin to celebrate 40th anniversary this weekend

A local hair salon will be celebrating its 40th anniversary on May 30th, starting at 9 a.m., by fundraising for the Fort St. John Women’s Resources Society.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A local hair salon will be celebrating its 40th anniversary by fundraising for the Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society. 


According to a Facebook post uploaded to Hair Bin Beauty, Barber and Spa’s page on May 24th, the salon will celebrate its 40th anniversary on May 30th, starting at 9 a.m. at Hair Bin located on 100th Street. 

For the anniversary, the salon will offer haircuts and facial waxing by donation from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and a BBQ from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. by donation.

All proceeds from these two events will be donated to the Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society. 

At 3 p.m., there will be $10,000 in total prize draws: first place will be $6,000, second place will be $3,000, and third place will be $500 cash and a $500 gift card. 

According to a salon staff member, there will be door prizes of various hair products. The event will include a braid bar, tinsel for hair, and face painting.

In the past, the salon has donated to the Salvation Army and the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BCSPCA).
