FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Residents will have the opportunity to chip in and keep their community clean this month as part of a community event.

On Saturday, May 30th, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Sevynn Spirits Healing Society will be hosting a Beatton River cleanup event, along with a community day at the Beatton River Campgrounds.

According to a Facebook event page, the Beatton River Cleanup is a “locally known community event on a ‘GET R DONE’ mentality, the idea that when our community sees a problem, we don’t wait for someone else to fix it, we roll up our sleeves and do it ourselves.”

The cleanup will include a number of events, such as a BBQ by donation, a bonfire, music, mini games for kids, community cleanup, and prizes and draws.

Those who attend can enjoy a BBQ and refreshments, available by donation, as well as prizes and draws, thanks to support from local businesses and community members, the event page said.
