FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek provincial courts between April 20th and April 24th. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing April 20th

Trevor Alexander McNiven (born 1971)

McNiven was found guilty of driving with a prohibited or suspended licence on January 11th, 2026 in Fort St. John. 

They were fined $500, handed a one-year driving prohibition, and must pay a $75 victim surcharge, which goes towards helping crime victims.

Mark Andrew Lloyd (born 1986) 

Lloyd was found guilty of hunting or taking or trapping or wounding or killing during prohibited hours on November 12th, 2023 in Fort St. John. 

They were fined $1, an order was made, and they were subject to forfeiture, which allows the government to seize property and assets ‘tainted’ by crime.  

Lloyd must also pay a $0.15 victim surcharge. 

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing April 21st

Clayton Lowell Erickson (born 1998) 

Erickson was found guilty of impaired operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs on March 16th, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

They were fined $1,000, handed a driving prohibition for one year and were asked to pay $300 as a victim surcharge. 

Brennan Kyler Palfi (born 2000) 

Palfi was found guilty of possessing firearms without a licence and/or registration and careless use or storage of a firearm on February 28th, 2025 in Tomslake.  

They were handed a conditional discharge, which means the record won’t show a conviction if a person meets the conditions the judge sets, a 12-month probation order, a 10-year firearms prohibition, and a victim surcharge of $200.

Mark Roth (born 1975)  

Roth was found guilty of breaching a probation order on September 15th, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

They were handed a suspended sentence, which means the accused is given conditions to follow, and was handed a probation order for five months. 

Zackary Rod Supernant (born 2004) 

Supernant was found guilty of motor vehicle theft on October 22nd, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

They were handed a conditional discharge sentence, a probation order for six months and were ordered to pay $2,523.77 in restitution, which requires the offender to pay the victim for financial losses the victim suffered as a result of the crime.

Travis Norman Walker (born 1987) 

Walker was found guilty of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence on May 31st, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

They were sentenced to serve jail time. 

Walker was also found guilty of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence on March 1st, 2026 in Dawson Creek. 

They were sentenced to 45 days in jail and given a 12-month probation order. 

Walker was found guilty of theft worth $5,000 or under on October 20th, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

They were sentenced to 13 days in jail. 

Walker was found guilty of being in a dwelling house without a lawful excuse on December 1st, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 

They were sentenced to jail for 30 days. 

Walker was also found guilty of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence on January 8th, 2026 in Dawson Creek. 

They were sentenced to 45 days in jail. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing April 23rd

Angela Ruth Springgay (born 1992) 

Reasonable grounds were satisfied for Springgay for an incident on February 9th in Fort St. John. 

They were issued a $200 recognisance for a period of 12 months following the allegation. If Springgay fails to comply with the court’s conditions, they must pay the $200. 

Peter James Zietsoff (born 1968) 

Zietsoff was found guilty of being unlawfully in a dwelling house on March 22nd, 2023 in Fort St. John 

They were handed a conditional sentence, which is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called ‘house arrest,’ a probation order for 12 months and a firearms prohibition for 10 years. 

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing April 23rd

Harmony Dawn Georgina Brown-Desjarlais (born 1995)

Brown-Desjarlais was found guilty of assault on September 1st and 3rd, 2025 in Chetwynd. 

They were handed a conditional discharge and a 12-month probation order. 

Trace Alan Hansen (born 1994)

Hansen was found guilty of the following 

  • Mischief worth $5,000 or under on January 11th, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 
  • Breach of an undertaking on January 15th, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 
  • Impaired operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drug on March 24th, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm on March 24th, 2025 in Dawson Creek.
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm on August 21st, 2025 in Dawson Creek. 
  • Mischief worth $5,000 or under on August 21st, 2025 in Dawson Creek.
  • Assault on May 11th, 2025 in Dawson Creek.  

They were given a jail-time-served sentence, a suspended sentence with conditions, a $1,000 fine, and a one-year driving prohibition. Hansen was also sentenced to one day in jail. 

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing April 24th

Christopher James Hugh Cunningham (1982)

Cunningham was found guilty of breaching a release order on April 23rd, 2026 and assault on December 28th, 2025 in Fort St. John. 

They were handed a jail-time-served sentence and a 12-month probation order. 

Justin Patrick Senger (born 1984) 

Reasonable grounds were satisfied for Senger for an incident on August 24th, 2023 in Fort St. John. 

They were issued a $500 recognisance for a period of 12 months following the allegation. If Senger fails to comply with the court’s conditions, they must pay $500.
