CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. — While the snow is still on the ground in some areas of the Peace region, Lake Point Golf and Country Club is set to take people far away – to Monte Carlo, to be exact.

The club will host ‘A Night in Monte Carlo’ on Saturday, April 25th on the club’s grounds. Fundraising chair for the course, Becky Belle, touched on some details of the event with Energeticcity.ca.

“We are really hoping to bring some elegance to Fort St. John,” said Belle. “We are super excited. We have some amazing sponsors this year.”

The aim is to raise money for the payment for the course’s irrigation system, which Belle said “is a venture that we have been enduring for the past couple of years.”

“It is not a very sexy fundraising attraction,” said Belle. “But, it’s something that’s really important for the golf course to get paid off.”

Primary sponsorship will be from D. Bauer Mechanical and Belle said Lake Point was “so incredibly grateful for the support” of both the business and the community.

A ticket for $200 includes the opportunity to experience a scotch and cigar tent, courtesy of Pimm’s production equipment and an oyster bar sponsored by Alpine Glass.

It will also include a Champagne bar, a martini bar and a flambé station. Dinner and a silent auction will also be available, as well as some casino-style games – including poker darts.

“[Participants will] have a dart and throw the dart for a poker hand,” said Belle.

Lake Point’s ‘A Night in Monte Carlo’ fundraiser will take place on Saturday, April 25th starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Lake Point’s Pro Shop at the course at 13717 Golf Course Road in Charlie Lake.
