FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The City of Fort St. John has modified the dates it will celebrate national Pitch-in Week.

In a Facebook post, the city announced Pitch-in Week has been rescheduled from April 19th to 25th to May 3rd to 9th.

When asked why Pitch-in Week is being rescheduled, Ryan Harvery, communications manager at the City of Fort St. John, said: “There’s still snow on the ground and it’s hard to pick up garbage.”

According to a post on the city’s website, this is a national program that aims to encourage Canadians to participate in a community clean-up, education or other action activity.

Pitch-in Week is an opportunity for the community to get involved and help pick up trash collected at parks, streets or a favourite place, it said.

Registrations are open until April 24th.
