(UPDATE) Province urges registrations for budget meeting after only three sign up to speak
Residents in northeast B.C. are urged to register for a consultation meeting on the 2027 provincial budget, which will take place in Dawson Creek in June.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — B.C.’s finance committee is urging residents to register for a meeting regarding the next provincial budget, after only three people signed up to speak.Â
During the week of June 15th, 2026, the finance committee will be visiting Dawson Creek as part of its annual consultation.

Residents who are selected to present will be informed in May of the date, time and location in June.
People who are not selected to present will be given an opportunity to provide written insights on the consultation portal in June.
During this consultation, members of the public who attend will have the opportunity to voice their opinion on important issues for inclusion in the provincial budget.Â
According to the committee, only three residents have signed up to speak at the public hearing, as of April 8th.Â

Registration is open to residents until April 10th at 2 p.m.Â
