Fort St. John bus services resume after being suspended amid winter weather

Winter weather suspended bus services in Fort St. John for approximately four hours on April 7th, but they have now been resumed.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Bus services in Fort St. John have restarted after being suspended for approximately four hours. 

BC Transit confirmed all service in Fort St. John was “temporarily suspended” on Tuesday, April 7th. 

In a written statement to Energeticcity.ca, BC Transit said: “This was due to winter weather conditions that impacted the ability of our contracted operating partner, Keolis Canada, to safely operate service in the region.”

This comes after Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Pine Pass, Highway 97 and the Peace River region on Monday, April 6th and into Tuesday, April 7th. 

A customer alert was posted to the BC Transit this morning. 

“Service resumed just after 12 p.m. after approximately four hours,” it said.

BC Transit apologized to customers for any inconvenience this may have caused.
