Snowfall rates could peak with up to four centimetres per hour, according to the statement.
Sudden reductions in visibility due to the snowfall, rapidly changing driving conditions and blowing snowfall reducing visibility could all factor in during driving, says Environment Canada.
The snow is expected to continue into Tuesday as the system moves out of the region. More details are available on Environment Canada’s alert on its website.
