FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A member of Fort St. John’s New Totem Archery club fared well at a recent event in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Andy Fochuk competed at the 2026 Vegas Shoot, an international event sanctioned by the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) on the last weekend of March.

Fochuk participated in the event in 2025, falling just short of the podium in fourth place in the senior men’s compound division.

In 2026, however, Fochuk was near the top of the competition, being one of four archers to reach a total score of 899 after three days, requiring a shoot-out playoff for victory.

He fell one point short of the U.S.’s Reo Wilde, who shot a 120 during the playoff compared to Fochuk’s 119, meaning he wound up in second position.

New Totem Archery took to Facebook to congratulate Fochuk, giving him a “huge congratulations” on his performance.
