Power outages in Peace region to affect more than 200 customers

BC Hydro has planned several outages in Dawson Creek, Chetwynd and Fort Nelson between March 29th and 31st, and they are scheduled to impact more than 200 BC Hydro customers.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — More planned outages are scheduled to affect 238 BC Hydro customers across the Peace region. 

According to BC Hydro’s outages list, customers in the following areas will lose power during the upcoming outages. 

  • Dawson Creek on March 29th from 9.30 a.m to 1.30 p.m., 21 customers.
  • Dawson Creek on March 30th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 53 customers. 
  • Dawson Creek on March 31st from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m., 40 customers. 
  • Chetwynd on March 30th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., 18 customers.
  • Fort Nelson, rescheduled for the second time from March 23rd, on March 29th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 106 customers.

The outages in Dawson Creek and Fort Nelson are due to pole replacements while the outage in Chetwynd is due to planned work being done on BC Hydro equipment.

On March 29th in Dawson Creek, areas impacted are around 219 Road, Harper Drive, Harper PIace, Harper Subdivision, Harper Subdivision Road, West Harper Subdivision and Harper Way. 

Areas impacted on March 30th in Dawson Creek are around 218 Road, 220 Road, 223 Road, 225 Road, Alderdale Corners, Bonk Road and Sweetwater Road. 

BC Hydro customers around 17th Street, 90th Avenue and 93rd Avenue will be impacted on March 31st in Dawson Creek.

On March 30th in Chetwynd, areas impacted are around Highway 97, John Hart Highway, Mount Lemoray Block B and West Hart. 

Customers around 49th Street, 47th Street, 48th Street, Airport Drive, Boundary Road and Sunset Drive will be impacted on March 29th in Fort Nelson. 

BC Hydro had previously said customers affected by the outages will receive automated phone calls, emails or postcards to alert them.
