Before returning to Dawson Creek, Mudfest travelled to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates to host the event overseas.
Billie Aasen, one of the organizers of Mudfest, reflected on the experience in conversation with Moose FM.
“It was the most random thing of my entire life. I thought it was a scam at first,” Aasen said in a conversation with Moose FM’s program director and afternoon host Chris Walker. “I was like, ‘are you sure you want to bring all these Canadian rednecks into Abu Dhabi?’
“What was awesome is just the community and the family that we built at Mudfest. I called all the guys and nobody hesitated… I was just really proud to represent Canada on the world stage.”
