Dawson Creek reopens warming centre as cold snap persists
The warming centre in Dawson Creek, being operated by the Nawican Friendship Centre, will be open 24/7 until March 27th.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The warming centre in Dawson Creek has been reopened to help the community during the upcoming cold snap.Â
In a Facebook post uploaded to the City of Dawson Creek on March 24th, the warming centre will be operational until March 27th.Â
The shelter located at 1401 102nd Avenue is being operated by the Nawican Friendship Centre and funded by the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR).Â

The centre will be open 24 hours a day and seven days a week and will provide light refreshment to community members in need of support during the colder weather.Â
According to Environment Canada, on March 25th, temperatures in Dawson Creek are forecasted to drop to a low of -23 C tonight with a wind chill of near -28 C with a risk of frostbite.Â
