Planned power outages to affect more than 450 customers across northeast B.C.

Planned power outages are scheduled to affect more than 450 BC Hydro customers across Taylor, Pouce Coupe, Dawson Creek and Fort Nelson in March 2026.

TAYLOR, B.C. — Planned power outages are scheduled to affect more than 450 BC Hydro customers across the Peace region and northeast B.C. 

According to BC Hydro’s outages list, outages in Pouce Coupe are set to affect 36 customers on March 19th from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 54 customers on March 26th from 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There is also a 98-customer outage planned from from 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 24th in areas including Pouce Coupe, Dawson Creek, Gundy and Tomslake.

In Taylor, outages have been planned for March 24th from 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with 168 customers to be impacted. 

Customers in Fort Nelson should expect outages on March 23rd, 27th and 28th, with over 100 customers affected in total between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The blackout on March 23rd was rescheduled from March 26th.

BC Hydro’s planned outage list details which roads will lose power:

  • Pouce Coupe on March 19th: 47th Avenue, 48th Avenue and 50th Avenue.
  • Fort Nelson on March 23rd: 49th Street, 47th Street, 48th Street, Airport Drive, Boundary Road and Sunset Drive. 
  • Taylor on March 24th: 100th Street, 101st Street, 102nd Avenue, 102nd Street, 107th Avenue, McMahon Drive, Spruce Street and West Pine Avenue. 
  • Pouce Coupe, Dawson Creek, Gundy and Tomslake on March 24th: 201st Road, 204th Road, 207th Road, Brown Pitt Road, Gundy Road, Hays Pit Road, Kreuzinger Road, Neubauer Road, Old Edmonton Highway, Siegert Road and Simmons Road. 
  • Pouce Coupe on March 26th: 50th Avenue, 50th Street, 51st Avenue, 52nd Avenue, Hospital Road and Sukrit Parmar Lane.
  • Fort Nelson on March 27th: Nahanni Drive.
  • Fort Nelson on March 28th: Northern Lights College – Simpson Trail. 

All the outages are due to pole replacement work.  

BC Hydro has previously said customers affected by planned outages will receive automated phone calls, emails or postcards to alert them.

This comes after multiple planned power outages in recent months, including in Dawson Creek and Pouce Coupe on March 10th and 11th.
