Victim of Charlie Lake ‘altercation’ identified by RCMP amid homicide investigation

The person who died on March 13th after an “altercation” at the Charlie Lake boat ramp has been named as Gurkirat Manocha.

CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. — The person who died after an “altercation” in Charlie Lake has been identified as a 25-year-old man. 

The North District Major Crimes Unit has named Gurkirat Manocha as the person who died on March 13th after the incident on the Charlie Lake boat ramp earlier that evening. 

Fort St. John RCMP officers were called at around 11:10 p.m. on Friday to reports of several people in an “altercation” and one person – Manocha – having serious injuries.

Manocha was taken to hospital by friends, according to officers, but later died. 

The crime unit, investigating the death as a homicide, has asked anyone with information to come forward. 

Sergeant Devin Huff said: “Investigators continue to work diligently to advance the investigation into Mr Manocha’s death.”
