Drop-in auditions are scheduled for February 21st, 22nd and 28th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 11520 Northern Lights Drive, and are open to anyone aged 18 and older.

No preparation is required, and participants will be given selected sections from the scripts to read during their audition.

According to the society, the production will be performed live on stage but delivered as if it’s being performed for radio, and feature handcrafted sound effects.

War of the Worlds is based on the infamous 1938 radio broadcast from Orson Welles that presented a fictional alien invasion as a live news report, which caused widespread panic from listeners who believed it was real. It had been adapted from H.G. Wells’ 1898 novel of the same name.

Sleepwalker, described by the Stage North Theatre Society as being in the spirit of The Twilight Zone, centres on a man or woman who has killed their family after hearing mysterious static on the radio.
