Upcoming outages to affect over 400 Peace BC Hydro customers
More than 400 BC Hydro customers in areas such as Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and Taylor will be affected by planned outages from January 27th to February 4th, 2026.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Planned BC Hydro outages are expected to affect over 400 customers in the Peace region between late January and early February.
All outages are for pole replacement work except one affecting the West Moberly First Nations on January 30th.
According to BC Hydro’s outage list, the first blackout is scheduled for Tuesday, January 27th, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Chetwynd and Moberly Lake area and is expected to affect 112 customers.
Impacted locations include 5221 to 7036 South Moberly Road, 5431 to 7102 South Moberly Lake Road and 6427 to 6506 Yips Sub Road.
On Thursday, January 29th, another outage is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in parts of Dawson Creek and Pouce Coupe, which is expected to affect 23 customers.
BC Hydro lists impacted areas along Riverside Road, affecting addresses between 73 and 326.
The outage was rescheduled from December 10th.

On the same day, a separate outage is planned north of Hudson’s Hope from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., affecting 101 customers.
Impacted locations include extensive portions of Beryl Prairie Road, as well as Boring Road, Coulson Road, Drew Road, Freer Road, Haagsman Street, Tompkins Road and Wegen Road.
Also on January 29th, a smaller outage is scheduled in Fort St. John from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., affecting 18 customers.
BC Hydro says impacted addresses are located along 100th Avenue and 261st Road.
An outage affecting 44 customers is planned for Friday, January 30th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the West Moberly First Nations, north of Chetwynd.
According to BC Hydro, impacted roads include Brown Road, Cryingman Road and West Moberly Road. This outage is listed as being due to adverse weather-related work.
In Taylor, a planned outage affecting 79 customers is scheduled for Sunday, February 1st, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The outage was rescheduled from December 17th.
BC Hydro lists a wide range of impacted locations, including sections of the Alaska Highway (Highway 97), Johnstone Road, 232nd Road, 249th Road, Big Bam Road, Pingle Creek Road, Taylor Flats, Taylor Frontage Road and Peace Island Park.
Another planned outage is scheduled in Dawson Creek on Wednesday, February 4th, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., affecting 31 customers.
Impacted areas include addresses along 97A Avenue, Spinney Drive, 8th Street, 9th Street and 10th Street.
Affected customers will receive automated phone calls, emails or postcards ahead of the outages.
Planned outages may be postponed if weather conditions become extreme. The utility reviews scheduled outages during periods of very cold temperatures, usually -15 C or below, while factoring windchill in local forecasts.
If an outage is delayed, BC Hydro customers will be notified before the scheduled start time, and the outage will be removed from its online outage list, according to the utility’s community relations coordinator Bob Gammer.
