Shots fired at Fort Nelson home before police search finds guns, casings and clothes

Northern Rockies RCMP officers are investigating reports that shots were fired at a Fort Nelson home in the early hours of Sunday, January 18th.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — Shots were reported to have been fired at a Fort Nelson First Nation home this weekend. 

Northern Rockies RCMP officers are investigating the incident, which took place early on Sunday, January 18th.

According to a press release on Monday, January 19th, the detachment received a 911 call shortly after 1 a.m. reporting that shots had been fired at a home on Chalo Road.

The RCMP said officers attended the scene and spoke with a resident, who said four shots were fired and one struck the house.

RCMP officers searched the area and found shell casings as well as two loaded shotguns, a dirt bike boot, a hat and headphones.

No suspects have been located. No injuries were reported.

The RCMP believes those involved may be known to each other and say there is no further risk to the general public.
