Woman banned from owning guns for 10 years after Dawson Creek shooting report
Jasmin Tawni Vigfusson pleaded guilty to occupying a vehicle knowing a firearm was present after Dawson Creek RCMP officers were called to reports of gunfire in January 2025.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — A woman charged after a gunfire reports in Dawson Creek has been banned from owning firearms for a decade.
On December 5th, Jasmin Tawni Vigfusson pleaded guilty to occupying a vehicle knowing a firearm was present and was sentenced to a conditional discharge and a probation period of 18 months.
The conditional discharge means the record won’t show a conviction if Vigfusson meets the conditions the judge sets.
A 10-year firearm prohibition was also imposed.
Vigfusson was initially arrested after police responded to a report of gunfire on 119th Avenue in Dawson Creek at approximately 1 a.m. on January 17th.
Another person arrested and charged after the incident, Jesse Sebastian Bujold, also pleaded guilty to the same charge in October 2025.
Bujold was sentenced to two years in jail and one year on probation.
