Pet owners are advised to keep their dogs on leash and away from wild animals.

Additionally, residents are asked to avoid animals’ feeding grounds and watch for changes in animal behaviour which might mean they are too close.

Advice was also given in case of a bear encounter – do not run, speak calmly yet firmly while trying to appear larger and back away slowly.

In case the bear becomes aggressive, people are asked to throw things if attacked and fight back.
