(UPDATE) Thousands hit by sweeping power outages in Fort St. John area
Two separate outages were reported within 40 minutes of one another in Fort St. John on Friday, December 5th, impacting more than 5,000 people.

Update, December 5th, 11:40 a.m.: The power has now been restored, according to BC Hydro.
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Power outages in Fort St. John left thousands of customers in the dark this morning.
BC Hydro announced on its outages site a pair of separate power cuts in the city on Friday, December 5th.

A crew was assigned to the first outage, which was reported on Friday at 8:56 a.m. south of 115th Avenue, west of 78th Street, north of 81st Street and east of 99th Avenue, affecting 4,268 customers.

A second crew was dispatched to another outage reported 42 minutes later, at 9:39 a.m., to 1,147 customers in an area east of 98th Street, north of 102nd Avenue, west of 112th Avenue and south of 118A Avenue.
Both outages are no longer listed as active by BC Hydro.
