Christmas Tree Light Up returns to downtown Dawson Creek

Dawson Creek’s annual Christmas Tree Light Up event officially starts at 6:15 p.m., followed by live music and speeches at 6:30 p.m. Santa is expected to arrive just before the Christmas tree lighting at 7 p.m.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The holiday season kicks off in downtown Dawson Creek tonight with the community’s annual Christmas Tree Light Up event.

According to the Rotary Club of Dawson Creek in a November 17th Facebook post, road closures for the November 21st event will begin at 4:30 p.m. at 10th Street and 102nd Avenue, with no through-traffic for the evening. 

The event will officially kick off at 6:15 p.m., followed by live music and speeches at 6:30 p.m.

Santa is expected to arrive just before 7 p.m., with the official tree light-up taking place at that time. Photo opportunities with Santa will follow.

The rotary club is encouraging residents to explore downtown, where many businesses will be staying open late and offering hot chocolate and other treats as part of the celebration.
