Downed power line results in Montney road closure

Dawson Road Maintenance says it received reports of a downed power line across 256th Road near its intersection with 271st Road in Montney.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A road section in Montney is currently closed due to a downed power line.

In a Facebook post on November 13th, Dawson Road Maintenance said an assessment is in progress after receiving reports of a power line lying across 256th Road near its intersection with 271st Road. 

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area until BC Hydro has completed its assessment and cleared the scene for traffic.

“Your safety is our priority,” Dawson Road Maintenance said in the post.

According to the image shared with the update, the incident may have involved a motor vehicle, though no injuries or additional details have been confirmed.
