Candidates step up for 2025 election at Doig River First Nation
Doig River First Nation elections are set to take place on November 20th.

ROSE PRAIRIE, B.C. — Elections in a northeast B.C. First Nation will be conducted later this month.
Doig River First Nation (DRFN) will conduct its vote for Chief and council on Thursday, November 20th.
DRFN band manager Shona Nelson told Energeticcity.ca band elections are held every two years in compliance with the federal Indian Act.

Both current DRFN councillor Justin Davis and newcomer Sheldon Harding have put their name on the ballot for the top job. The Chief seat was left vacant following Trevor Makadahay’s decision not to seek re-election.
Eight candidates will be vying for three spots on council. The field includes both incumbent councillors Starr Acko and Brittany Robertson.
They will be joined by Shirley Acko-Howatt, Stephanie Attachie, Korbin Davis, Montana Davis- Green, Madeline Oker, and Linda Sark.
The election is set for Thursday, November 20th.
