FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A local barbershop is offering free haircuts to people who have dedicated parts of their lives to serving Canada.

The Premium Barbershop, located on 96a Street in Fort St. John, announced on Facebook on Saturday, November 8th that it will offer veterans and active service members free haircuts on Tuesday, November 11th.

The haircuts are being offered to commemorate Remembrance Day, an annual holiday memorializing fallen Canadian soldiers from throughout history and celebrating the sacrifices of living veterans and service members.

Barbershop owner Adam Daoud said he doesn’t have a personal connection to the Canadian Armed Forces, but still elected to offer the service anyway.

“We’ve got to give back to the community,” Daoud said. “It’s our community, we’ve got to appreciate our army [and] our heroes.”

Anyone interested in getting a free haircut will need to present a valid ID or proof of their service.

Haircuts will be offered at the Premium Barbershop on November 11th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Anyone else interested in commemorating Remembrance Day can attend the parade that will be marching through downtown Fort St. John that morning.
