Nominations now open for Chamber of Commerce board election

All Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce members in good standing can now submit nominations.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Nomination forms for the Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming election are now available.

The chamber announced plans to elect four new members for its board of directors in early October. As of Monday, November 3rd, nominations are officially open.

All chamber members in good standing can submit their names. An email sent to members says anyone passionate about local business and regional development is encouraged to nominate themselves.

“Directors play a key role in representing the interests of our membership, guiding advocacy efforts and supporting the chamber’s mission of fostering a strong and vibrant economy in northeast British Columbia,” it reads.

Nominations will remain open until November 21st. Voting packages will be distributed to members the day nominations closed, and votes will be accepted until November 30th.

The chamber is also holding an event at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre to provide prospective candidates with useful information regarding what their responsibilities as a board director would be.

That meeting is being held on Tuesday, November 4th from noon to 3 p.m. Registration costs $50 and is available online.
